Cathy Irene Parks Lance Obituary, Crossville – At nine minutes past nine o’clock on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, Mrs. Cathy Irene Parks Lance, who was 65 years old and a resident of Crossville, passed away at the Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville. Crossville, Tennessee was the location of Cathy’s birth on July 13, 1958. Her parents, Bobby Lee and Donna Irene Emerton Parks, have since passed away. Formerly employed as a seamstress, she was also the founder and proprietor of Cumberland Roofing, which she established alongside her husband.
She played an important role in the operation of the company, from managing the office to ensuring that products were transported to the specific locations where they were needed. She was a passionate gardener who took great pleasure in tending to her flower beds. Her favorite activities included yard sales, flea markets, and fishing. The game of Bingo, which was one of her favorite pleasures, was the occasion where her competitive streak was brought out.
Not only did her parents pass away before her, but she was also predeceased by her brother Michael Parks and her aunt Leona Sherrill, who was a very beloved aunt. Among the members of her family who are still alive to honor her memory is her husband, Leslie Lance. Joseph Johnson and his wife Stefanie, both of Crossville, and William Lance, also of Crossville, are the child’s parents.
Junior Lance of Sparta and Brian Lance of Madisonville, Tennessee are the names of the two step-sons. Elaine Qualls and Dave Caldwell, who reside in Sparta; Mary Headerick, Charlotte Ladd and her husband Harold; and Charlie Parks and his wife Teresa, who reside in Georgia; these are the three sisters. Dorothy Blaylock and her husband James, owners of Sparta, are my aunts.
The following grandchildren are included: Samuel, Jacob, Abigail, Matthew, Brooklyn, Brian, and Haley Great-grandchildren numbering two One of my closest friends, Nancy Margeson Also surviving are a large number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other members of the extended family.
Interment will take place at Highland Cemetery following the funeral services that will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at one o’clock in the afternoon from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. After eleven o’clock on Saturday morning, the family will be present at Hunter Funeral Home to greet friends. Mike Garrett will serve as the referee.
