Carter Halverson Obituary, Death; – An 18-year-old was killed in a crash in O’Brien County on Saturday, according to the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office.
In a release, the Sheriff’s Office said that they got a call from OnStar at around 12:11 a.m. stating that there had been a crash on the 5400 block of 500th Street about five miles southwest of Paullina.
The call from OnStar indicated that the vehicle involved in the crash had likely rolled over. When officials arrived at the scene, they found a 2023 Chevrolet Malibu in the north ditch.
Officials believe that the car had been heading east on 500th Street when it left the road way. The car appears to have hit a driveway which had caused the car to roll at least once.
The driver, identified as Carter Halverson, 18, of Paullina, had been ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident is still under investigation. The O’Brien County Sheriff’s OFfice was assisted by the Paullina Police Department, Paullina Fire Department Paullina Ambulance, and the O’Brien County Medical Examiner.
