Carson McCain Obituary, Death; – A man from Lake Charles has lost his life following a two-vehicle collision in Calcasieu Parish, as reported by the Louisiana State Police.
At approximately 7 p.m. on February 21, 52-year-old Carson McCain was operating his motorcycle northbound on Gulf Highway, near the intersection with Eddie Hebert Road. He began to decelerate and was preparing to make a left turn into a private driveway.
For reasons that are still being investigated, while McCain was in the process of turning, he was struck by a vehicle traveling behind him, resulting in his ejection from the motorcycle, according to LSP.
McCain, who was wearing a helmet that met DOT standards, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other vehicle’s driver, identified by state police as 35-year-old Catharine Carlin from DeRidder, was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
Standard toxicology tests have been conducted on both drivers, and the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
