Carol Yawn Obituary, Death – Carol Hodges Yawn, who was 77 years old, passed away at St. Joseph’s/Candler Hospital in Savannah, Georgia, on the 30th of March. Over the course of her whole life, Carol had lived in Bulloch County and graduated from Statesboro High School 1965. Following her graduation from the University of Georgia with her love, she went on to get married in Statesboro in the year 1969.
During the time while her children were young, she favored remaining at home. The year 2008 marked the end of her period of employment as a counselor at Statesboro High School. The former president of the Statesboro Service League, Carol, enjoyed being of service to her community. Sunday School and Bible studies were two of the activities that she took part in while attending Statesboro First United Methodist Church.
Later on, she was instrumental in the establishment of Connection Church, which she and her family attended on a regular basis. The accomplishment that Carol was most proud of was having three children, all of whom she cherished. The steadfast love that she had for her grandkids was the source of her greatest happiness. Her close ones referred to her as C.C. with affection.
Her three children and their spouses, Jeff and Megan Yawn, Nancy and Chad Wiggins, and Susan and Brandon Williams, as well as her grandchildren, Bruce, Hannah, Luke, Davis, Avery, Mollie, Dake, Jackson, and Reid Williams, as well as her brother and his wife, Bird and Betty Hodges, and her brother-in-law, Bobby Yawn, are among those who are able to carry on her legacy. Her legacy is carried on by a large number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
On the first Monday of April in 2024, from five o’clock until seven o’clock, Connection Church will be hosting a visitation. On Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at eleven o’clock in the morning, funeral services will be held at Connection Church, with Brandon Williams serving as the officiant. After the funeral, there will be a private burial for the deceased.
The following individuals have been selected to serve as pallbearers: Davis Wiggins, Bruce Yawn, Luke Yawn, Dake Williams, Jackson Williams, Reid Williams, Brannen Hodges, Will Yawn, Drew Yawn, Mathis Lanier, and Jack Lanier among others.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Connection Church, which is located at 1342 Cawana Road, Statesboro, Georgia 30461
