Carmen Zeron, Angelica Juarez Obituary – The Lake County Coroner’s Office has released information regarding the tragic collision near Wauconda, where two women lost their lives. Carmen Zeron, a 48-year-old resident of Waukegan, and Angelica Juarez, a 55-year-old resident of Round Lake Beach, both succumbed to blunt force injuries, as determined by preliminary autopsy results.
The incident occurred on Wednesday morning when Zeron, driving a 2007 Nissan Versa west on Fairfield Road at Chardon Road in unincorporated Wauconda, collided with a dump truck traveling north on Fairfield Road. It is worth noting that there was a stop sign on Chardon Road, but none on Fairfield Road.
The dump truck, carrying concrete and gravel, overturned and spilled some of its contents following the collision. Sadly, Zeron was pronounced dead at the scene, and Juarez, who was a backseat passenger in the Nissan, also lost her life.
Another passenger, a 45-year-old woman from Round Lake Beach, sustained critical injuries but is expected to survive. The driver of the dump truck did not sustain any injuries. The authorities are currently investigating the cause of the crash.
