Carlos Wills Death: On September 10th, about 12:30 a.m., the Clarksville Police Department responded to a troubling situation on Ash Ridge Drive, where they discovered an 18-year-old guy with a gunshot wound. The victim, Carlos Wills of Lebanon, Tennessee, was immediately evacuated to a Nashville hospital. Despite efforts to save him, Carlos Wills was placed on life support and died from his injuries. Carlos Wills’ death has been confirmed, and all next-of-kin notifications have been done. The Clarksville Police Department and the community are very saddened by his passing, and our sympathies are with his family during this terrible time.
In reaction to the incident, the Clarksville Police Department launched a full investigation. Detectives from District 1 Criminal Investigations, CPD’s Intelligence Unit, and the Special Operations Homicide Unit have been working around the clock to piece together what happened before and after the incident. Their thorough investigation has resulted in the identification of a suspect, 20-year-old Za’Kwon Jaterrion Holliday of Clarksville. A homicide warrant was quickly issued for Holliday’s arrest.
Agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation collaborated with investigators from the Metro/Nashville Police Department to conduct a traffic stop in Nashville later that evening, around 6:30 p.m. Za’Kwon Holliday was caught without incident and placed in jail. The Clarksville Police Department has stated that the occurrence appears to be isolated. At no time did law enforcement believe there was an ongoing threat to the general public. The prompt response and coordinated actions of numerous law enforcement agencies have been critical in settling this case.
As part of the ongoing investigation, CPD investigators are looking for information about 19-year-old Davontay Tyrek Spencer of Clarksville. Spencer was at the scene of the incident, and authorities want to speak with him to get more information. Anyone who knows Davontay Spencer’s location or has further information regarding the case should call the Clarksville Police Department as soon as possible.
