Carl Goodman Obituary, Death; – A 23-year-old individual has been charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 69-year-old man in Morgan County over the weekend. Codee Munson, a resident of Versailles, faces charges of first-degree murder and armed criminal action, with his arraignment scheduled for Wednesday morning in Versailles.
According to a probable cause statement, law enforcement discovered the victim, Carl Goodman, lying next to a truck in an alley adjacent to the West View Shopping Center on Friday afternoon, suffering from a neck wound. Witnesses reportedly identified Munson as the assailant.
Authorities located Munson in a motel room he was occupying. The statement indicates that he was found on his knees, with his hands raised above his head and facing away from the entrance when officers arrived. Munson had injuries on his left hand, and there was blood present on the floor of the room.
Munson allegedly called 911 to report that he had just killed someone, asserting that the victim was a terrorist, as stated in the report. Police subsequently discovered a knife with a 5.5-inch blade in Munson’s room.
