Ross Brezovsky of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, has sadly passed away. Following a four-year fight with cancer, Ross Brezovsky, who served as LSU baseball’s director of operations from 2009 to 2013, passed away suddenly on Wednesday. His age was 39.
While Brezovsky was employed by LSU under head coach Paul Mainieri, the Tigers won three SEC Tournament crowns, a 2009 College World Series National Championship, the 2009 and 2012 SEC Championships, and a 2013 CWS participation.
Brezovsky played at Notre Dame — including two seasons (2005-06) under Mainieri – as a four-year starting infielder and outfielder. Between 2005 and 2008, he started 220 games for the Irish, going on to have a career batting average of.289, 39 doubles, 8 triples, 11 home runs, 130 RBI, and 138 runs scored.
Brezovsky, a graduate of Naples, Florida’s Barron Collier High School, was employed by Mainieri as LSU’s operations director in August 2008 after earning degrees in economics and computer applications from Notre Dame in May 2008. Brezovsky’s two children and his wife Kim survive him.
