Calvin Zakery Grace Death – The individual who lost his life in what authorities deem a road rage incident in Spanish Fork last month has been identified by officials. On April 26th, at approximately 2:15 a.m., Spanish Fork police were alerted via a 911 call regarding an “aggressive driver” on the roads. The caller reported being pursued by another driver who was attempting to forcefully collide with their vehicle.
In response to the distress call, law enforcement initiated measures to intercept the purportedly aggressive driver. Despite efforts to halt the vehicle through a traffic stop, the driver chose to evade authorities, leading to a pursuit. The pursuit concluded tragically when the fleeing vehicle crashed into a substantial tree situated in front of a residence at 500 N. 400 East.
Upon reaching the crash site, an officer promptly administered medical assistance to the driver. Despite these efforts, the driver, later identified as Calvin Zakery Grace, aged 27, from Springville, succumbed to the injuries sustained in the collision.
Following this fatal incident, the Utah County Sheriff’s Office has undertaken an investigation utilizing an officer-involved protocol to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the crash. This protocol involves an in-depth examination to determine the role of law enforcement in the events leading up to and following the collision.
The tragic outcome underscores the potential dangers associated with road rage incidents and the importance of swiftly addressing such situations to prevent further harm. Authorities continue their efforts to understand the sequence of events leading to the collision and to ensure accountability where necessary.
