Caldwell Community College & Technical Institute had six members of the Cobra softball team recognized nationally for end-of-season awards.
The National Junior College Athletic Association released their Division III All-American teams for the 2024 softball season on Tuesday. Kasey Triplett was named first team All-American as an infielder. The freshman hit .435 with 49 runs, 64 hits, 53 RBI, 29 stolen bases, 16 doubles, and 14 homeruns. Nationally, she was top ten in five offensive categories.
Isabelle Curry was named NJCAA Division III second team All-American as a pitcher. The sophomore went 16-9 as a starter this season with a 3.14 ERA and 127 strikeouts (tenth nationally).
The National Fastpitch Coaches Association revealed their NJCAA Division III All-America team on Friday afternoon, May 31. Cobras’ first baseman Taryn Estes and utility Carlee Tart represented Caldwell. Freshman Estes hit .313 with 22 runs, 30 hits, three doubles, eight homers and 22 RBI, while fellow first-year player Tart batted .343 with 40 runs, 47 hits, six doubles, 24 RBI, and 15 stolen bases.
Rawlings Sporting Goods Company, Inc. revealed the recipients of the 2024 NJCAA Rawlings Gold Glove Award on Tuesday afternoon. The award recognizes nine student-athletes from each of the NJCAA Division I, II and III memberships. Sophomores Skylar Banks and Sydney Ferguson received the honor for Division III, with Banks capturing it for the second time in as many seasons.
For the 2024 season, Caldwell finished 30-21 on the season, Region 10 runner-up, and third place in the nation.
