Death Notice – Byron Lee Sheldon, born on March 4th, 1950, began his journey in Everett, WA, to Thelma Townsend and Charles “Red” Sheldon. Growing up in Tulalip until his youth, Byron later moved to Everett, where he graduated from Everett High School in 1968.
A Brief Stint at Western University:
Post-graduation, Byron briefly attended Western University before returning to his roots in Tulalip. This small town became his home for the rest of his life.
Dedicated Service to Tulalip Tribes:
Byron devoted decades to the Tulalip Tribes, serving as a courier affectionately dubbed a “gopher” due to his role in fetching and delivering. On his daily rounds, he often indulged in his favorite snack, a corn dog from the local teriyaki store.
The Man Behind the Laughter:
Known for his goofy sense of humor, Byron Sheldon also had a big, kind heart. An avid car collector and skilled woodworker in his younger years, he had a genuine love for animals, keeping dogs and cats as cherished pets.
Fondly Remembered:
Byron Sheldon is survived by his siblings Marlene Beltran, William Sheldon, Lita Sheldon, and Karen Sheldon, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and nephews Leon Bitsie, Dareth Beltran, Richard Darren Powell, and Brandon Bryant.
Honoring Byron’s Legacy:
An interfaith service will be held on Monday, Feb. 5, 2024, at 6:00 PM at the Tulalip Gathering Hall. A celebration of his life will follow on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the Tulalip Gathering Hall, with burial at Mission Beach Cemetery. Byron Lee Sheldon’s memory lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
