Broden Radomske Obituary, St. Albert, Boy, 15, fatally stabbed while walking dog in north Edmonton, man in custody: A 15-year-old St. Albert boy was tragically killed while walking his dog with his mother in north Edmonton on Tuesday night. The boy, Broden Radomske, a Grade 9 student at Lorne Akins Junior High School, was fatally stabbed in the neck by a man they knew from the area. The heartbroken mother said the attack occurred around 9:30 p.m. near 137 Avenue and 184 Street.
Police swiftly arrested the suspect, who is believed to have been experiencing a mental episode at the time of the attack. Officers and paramedics arrived at the scene and attempted to save Broden, but he succumbed to his injuries before homicide detectives were called in.
Broden’s mother recounted the harrowing incident, stating that her son was walking behind her when the assault occurred. The family regularly walked their pitbull in the neighborhood and were familiar with the assailant in passing.
St. Albert Public Schools released a statement on Wednesday, expressing deep sorrow over the loss of Broden. “Our hearts are with Broden’s family, friends, classmates, and teachers as they struggle with this enormous loss. Our flags will also be lowered in honor of Broden. We are grateful for the time he spent with us. May he rest in peace,” the statement read.
An autopsy is scheduled for Friday to further investigate the tragic incident.
This heartbreaking event brings to mind a similar tragedy from May of the previous year, when Carolann Robillard, 35, and her 11-year-old daughter Sara Miller were killed in a random stabbing attack outside Edmonton’s Crawford Plains School. The assailant in that case, Muorater Mashar, 33, died in hospital five days after being shot by police responding to the scene.
