The victim has been identified as Brittany Brown, aged 30. The incident occurred at approximately 2 a.m. on Tuesday at the intersection of 15th Street East and Avenue I.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, a preliminary investigation suggests that a sedan traveling west on Avenue I collided with a pedestrian who was walking in the bicycle lane. The pedestrian sustained severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the crash is currently under investigation, and it is unclear whether speed played a role. Additionally, authorities are investigating the possibility of the driver being under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
