Brian L. Cosby Death – A Virginia man is now facing multiple charges, including murder, following a fatal shooting in the Bellwood neighborhood over the weekend. The incident occurred around 8:15 p.m. on Sunday when police were called to Periwinkle Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered two adults, a man and a woman, who had been shot.
The Chesterfield Police identified the deceased man as 46-year-old Brian L. Cosby. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The injured woman was transported to the hospital and is currently in stable condition.
Witnesses reported hearing nearly a dozen gunshots during the incident. One resident noted the significant police presence on the street and expressed shock upon learning about the shooting.
On Monday, authorities arrested 45-year-old Dion M. Rucker of Rice, Virginia, in connection with the shooting.
Rucker has been charged with:
– Second-degree murder
– Aggravated malicious wounding
– Two counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony
– Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
He is currently held at the Chesterfield County Jail without bond. According to the Chesterfield Police, the investigation suggests that Rucker is acquainted with the adult female who was injured in the shooting.
