Brenda Whiteman Obituary – The death of Brenda K. Whiteman, who was 66 years old, occurred in St. John’s Hospital on Thursday, April 4, 2024. Both of her parents, Wilbur and Faye (Sample) Rankins, had passed away prior to her birth on March 26, 1958. She was born to either of them. It was on August 17, 2013, in Sherman that she tied the knot with Larry Whiteman.
Brenda and her mother were both employed at Steak and Shake when Brenda was a teenager. The Franklin Life company was where she started her career, and she eventually retired from Horace Mann. In addition to being a hobbyist writer, she had a passion for arts and crafts, particularly the creation of beaded jewelry. Her passions included cooking and watching Food Network. There was a special place in her heart for all kinds of animals. A member of the Lutheran faith, she was.
Crystal, April, Ryan, Diana, Gina, and Debby are some of the nieces and nephews that Brenda leaves behind. She is also survived by her husband, Larry; her daughter, Gabrielle Melcher; her sister, Faye Roberts; and her brother, Larry (Becky) Rankins.
There will be a memorial service performed at the Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at one o’clock in the afternoon. The Reverend James A. Stuenkel will preside over the ceremony.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be donated to the Animal Protective League and will be gratefully accepted.
