Brenda Ward Obituary, Death – Jonesboro resident Brenda J. Ward, 72, went away on April 4, 2024, surrounded by her cherished family. On April 28, 1951, Brenda came into this world at Armorel, Arkansas. She attended Tyronza High School and graduated in 1969. She grew up in Tyronza. She had been an active member of Tyronza’s Church of Christ for quite some time.
Similar to her own profession, Brenda’s included providing care to others. For three decades, she served as a social worker for the state of Arkansas’s human services department. She oversaw the well-being of foster children in her role as a social worker for Children and Family Services. She did her best to get the kids back with their real parents whenever she could.
After Brenda retired, she worked as a Pink Lady at Jonesboro’s NEA Baptist Hospital.
Brenda had a big family and she loved every single one of them. The love Brenda had for her grandkids was obvious to everyone who knew her. Oralee McBride Taylor, Robert Herschel Taylor, Bernard and Pauline Shepard, Clarence Durfee, and her foster brother all passed away before she was born.

Marked Tree, Arkansas’s Delancey Funeral Home will have a funeral ceremony on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. From 12:30 to 2:00 p.m., there will be a viewing. Funeral services will be followed by interment in Tyronza Cemetery in Tyronza, Arkansas. The service will be officiated by Brother Patrick Tucker.
