Brenda Boatwright Death, Obituary Unavailable – On March 31, 2024, Brenda Boatwright, who had served as Mayor of Dunstable in the past, passed away. She had held that office in the past. It is with deep regret that we must inform you that she has just passed away. Sincere sympathies are extended to you. Brenda served as a member of the Town Council from the year 1985 to the year 2009.
Additionally, she served as Mayor of Dunstable on two separate occasions, the first time being in the years 1988–1989 and the second time being in the years 2007–2008 on two consecutive occasions. Additionally, during the years 1994 and 1995, when her husband Peter was serving as Mayor of Dunstable, she also held the title of Mayoress of Dunstable. This occurred during the time that she was married to Peter.
During the time that she was serving as a Councillor, she was the leader of the Finance and General Purposes Committee. In addition, she was the Leader of the Conservative Group for a number of years. Both of these positions were held simultaneously. She was keen about ensuring that the town of Dunstable residents receive a return on their investments that was commensurate with the amount of money they had invested.
Even after making the decision to step down from her position as a councillor, Brenda continued to be involved in a wide variety of organizations located around the community. There were both regional and national organizations that were included in this group. She was affiliated with a number of organizations, including South Bedfordshire Dial-a-Ride, the Association of Dunstable Charities, Friends of Priory House and Gardens, and the Dunstable International Town Twinning Association, to name just a few of them.
It should also be noted that she was a member of a variety of other organizations. When Brenda passes away, the only people she leaves behind are her son-in-law Andrew and her daughter Caroline. Andrew is also Brenda’s son-in-law. While they are going through this challenging time, we will continue to keep them in our thoughts and prayers; we will remember them.
