Brandon Robinson Obituary, Death;- A 20-year-old man has lost his life, and his 20-year-old passenger has sustained serious injuries following an incident in which their SUV veered off the road and collided with a fence and a tree in New Gloucester, Maine, during the night.
According to New Gloucester Fire Rescue, emergency services were dispatched to 97 Dougherty Road at approximately 12:12 a.m. on Saturday in response to a crash that involved reported entrapment and an unresponsive individual.
Upon arrival, responders discovered one individual deceased and the other severely trapped within the vehicle. The extrication process was lengthy, as noted by New Gloucester Fire Rescue. Once the passenger was successfully freed from the SUV, he was transported to Maine Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that the deceased individual was Brandon Robinson from Damariscotta, as reported by News Center Maine. The passenger, identified as Cody Huff from Portland, is anticipated to recover, according to the sheriff’s office.
Authorities suspect that Robinson was operating a 2021 Chevrolet Bolt EUV while traveling westbound on Dougherty Road when he lost control, resulting in the SUV crossing the center line and veering off the left side of the roadway, ultimately colliding with a wooden fence and a large tree, as reported by News Center Maine.
Investigators believe that speed and alcohol may have contributed to this tragic incident, which is currently under investigation.
