Blake Betteridge Obituary – “I awoke to news of an absolutely devastating loss, a most unexpected death. Rest in peace, dear, sweet, kind, creative, talented, thoughtful, generous community contributor, beloved friend, Blake Betteridge. Our community will never be the same! I am without words. This one really really hurts. Thank you for the chats in Blaze Landing.”
“Thank you for years of impactful, living, burning art. Thank you for the souvenir, your hand printed rendition of Memory Man handed to me beside the embers, and your exuberant eyes, your totally present, aware eye contact. Thank you for making us think. Thank you for the robust generous way you said my name with arms outstretched walking toward me on the fray; my welcome there was never a question with you.”
He is survived by his loving children Josh of Kelowna, BC, Brittany (Nick) Powell of Carberry, MB, Lars of Kelowna, BC and Sean also of Kelowna, his grandchildren Leevye Powell, Lily Powell and Oaklanne Betteridge, his siblings Rod (Bonnie), Bruce (Linda), Jim (Carol), Doug (Marianne), Julie (Jim) Robson, Marg (Brendan), Milton and Mike (Dee).
“I am going to miss you so much, along with legions, because you were a man larger than life whose sweep was vast. Thank you for everything you showed us about how to live. Thank you for touching my life. You will be missed forever, and felt in the ethers for all eternity. Farewell cherished brother.”
