ANSTED, WV (LOOTPRESS) – An evening altercation took a strange turn Sunday when a man was reportedly attacked, robbed of his four-wheeler, and left stunned as the suspect crashed it into a tunnel wall before fleeing the scene.

At approximately 6:18 p.m., Sgt. J. Rice of the Ansted Police Department responded to a disturbance in progress on Hawks Nest Marina Road. Upon arrival, Sgt. Rice discovered a green ATV wrecked against the interior of a tunnel—its rider nowhere in sight.

After a brief search, Sgt. Rice located the vehicle’s apparent owner, Burt McClung, over the hillside in an unusual position—defecating. Once McClung had composed himself, he gave a detailed account of the incident.

According to McClung, he had been lured to a car parked in the tunnel by an acquaintance, Mark Feazell. Unbeknownst to him, Richard “Ricky” Peck was lying in wait in the back seat. As McClung approached, Peck allegedly jumped out and launched a surprise assault, punching him in the head, kneeing him in the face, and striking his side.

McClung told police that while Feazell may have attempted to break up the fight, Peck soon demanded McClung’s four-wheeler keys. After taking them, Peck reportedly mounted the vehicle, shouted, “This will make three!”—referencing two previous thefts—and promptly crashed the four-wheeler into the tunnel wall.

Peck then fled the scene in Feazell’s car, leaving behind the damaged ATV and a shaken McClung.

The incident remains under investigation by the Ansted Police Department.
