Bilsrang R. Marak Obituary, Death – A tragic road accident claimed the life of a 30-year-old man, Bilsrang R. Marak, in Chondonpara, Garo Hills, on State Highway 6. The incident occurred on Monday when Marak, riding his motorcycle, was involved in a fatal collision with a dumper truck. Marak, the son of Dalbison R. Momin from Chondonpara village, was instantly crushed to death at the scene.
According to the police, initial inquiries suggest that Marak was on his way from Chondonpara to Garodoba. He attempted to overtake an unidentified tempo on a curve when a dumper truck, traveling in the opposite direction, collided head-on with his motorcycle. This unfortunate encounter left Marak with severe head injuries, leading to his immediate death.
The aftermath of the collision also impacted a pedestrian, Rohita Hajong, 34, from Boiragipara, Garobadha. As the motorcycle toppled over, it struck Hajong, causing injuries that required medical attention. She was promptly transported to the Belbari Primary Health Centre for treatment.
Upon receiving information about the accident, officers from Monabari police station quickly arrived at the scene. They discovered Marak’s lifeless body lying next to his damaged motorcycle, identified by its registration number ML-14/7809. The police have since conducted the necessary procedures at the site of the accident.
Efforts are currently underway to locate the dumper truck involved in the accident. Authorities are actively working to identify and apprehend the driver, who remains unknown. In their pursuit of justice, the local police are coordinating with their counterparts in Assam to aid in the investigation. This tragic incident highlights the importance of road safety and the dire consequences of traffic negligence, serving as a somber reminder of the risks faced by motorists and pedestrians alike.
