Billy Gevedon Death– On August 5, 2023, at the age of 66, Billy Ray Gevedon, who resided in Canton, North Carolina, died away in a calm and serene manner. His loyal children were there to comfort him in his final moments.
Billy’s path through schooling began at Enka High School, and he continued his study at AB-Tech when he graduated there. His time spent serving in the United States Army was a significant source of pride for him.
He also devoted himself to a lengthy term as a respected employee of the city of Asheville, while simultaneously creating a successful career in the transportation industry.
In the course of his life and during his years of retirement, Billy discovered that spending time with his loved ones and his friends brought him great joy. A few of his favorite things to do included going for motorcycle rides, becoming involved in a wide variety of projects (both his own and those of his family), and competing in intense games of UNO. Billy was known for his forthright and uninhibited manner of expressing his opinions, as well as his eagerness to be of assistance to whomever he could.
His unbounded kindness, contagious smile, and delightful irreverence in humor impacted the lives of a great number of people. The loss of Billy has created a vacuum that can never be filled for his family, friends, neighbors, and everyone else who had the honor of knowing him.
His father, Elmer Wendell Gevedon, his mother, Demia Alice Rich Gevedon, and his sister, Barbara Joan Gevedon Creasman, all passed away before he did. The members of Billy Gevedon’s surviving family will always cherish his legacy.
This includes his son, Chris Gevedon, who lives in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, with his wife Alexis; his daughter, Rachel Ray, who lives in Horse Shoe, North Carolina, with her husband Johnny; his son, Kyle Gevedon, who lives in Asheville, North Carolina; and his two brothers, Gene Gevedon and Terry Gevedon, along with their respective families. In addition, he is left by his seven cherished grandchildren, who fondly referred to him as “Grandpa,” as well as his extensive group of friends, neighbors, and community members. He will be greatly missed.
On the evening of Tuesday, August 15, 2023, from six o’clock in the evening until nine o’clock in the evening, those who were close to Billy are cordially invited to attend a celebration of his life that will be held at the Cruso Community Development Center, which can be found at 13186 Cruso Road, Canton, North Carolina 28716.
