Betsy Arakawa Obituary, Death; – Authorities have made public body camera footage and images taken inside Gene Hackman’s residence in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
The 95-year-old actor and his 65-year-old spouse, Betsy Arakawa, were discovered deceased in February. The recordings were captured by deputies who were investigating Hackman’s home following the initial discovery of the bodies.
Hackman was located in the mudroom adjacent to the kitchen. The video footage also shows one of the couple’s dogs. A deputy reported that the dog was protecting Arakawa’s body near a bathroom. Additionally, there is an image of prescription medication.
A medical examiner concluded that Arakawa passed away first due to Hantavirus, which is typically contracted through contact with rodents. The medical examiner also found that Hackman died several days later from heart disease, high blood pressure, and Alzheimer’s Disease.
