Bertha Rauch Death – The woman who was killed in a car crash near Covington on Thursday evening has been identified by the St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office. The deceased, Bertha Rauch, 81, lost her life in a crash that occurred in the 1300 block of North U.S. 190, just north of Interstate 12. The cause of death is still pending the results of an autopsy, as stated by a spokesperson from the Coroner’s Office on Friday morning.
The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office initially reported the fatal crash on Thursday night, but provided limited details. According to their news release, deputies were summoned to a parking lot in the 1300 block of North U.S. 190 after receiving reports of a woman who had sustained serious injuries in a crash. Tragically, the woman passed away before the deputies could reach the scene.
The news release from the Sheriff’s Office mentioned that their Traffic Division was conducting an investigation into the crash. However, it did not disclose the specific business parking lot where the woman was discovered.
Despite attempts to contact a spokesperson from the Sheriff’s Office for further information on Friday, immediate success was not achieved.
