PUMPKIN CENTER, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A Lincoln County man was charged with murder after admitting to beating his wife to death, the sheriff’s office says.  Detectives with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office say the domestic violence incident occurred Tuesday morning. Deputies responded to a home on Lee Lawing Road around 10:30 a.m. after receiving a call from someone who allegedly said that he killed his wife.  The suspect, 68-year-old Clarence Dobbs Pinckney, was arrested without incident. He was charged with first-degree murder and is being held in the Lincoln County jail without bond.
