GALVESTON, Texas — A 20-year-old Dickinson woman drowned early Sunday morning after she either jumped or fell into the water near a rock jetty, according to Galveston Island Beach Patrol. Beach patrol received a call about a missing swimmer near Tower 47 at around 12:30 a.m. Witnesses called 911 after they said they lost sight of her in the water.
