Lillliye Marshall Obituary, Death; – Jefferson County Coroner Roger Hayse has identified the 46-year-old woman who perished in a fire at her residence located in the 2800 block of Mannen Street early Tuesday morning. The deceased has been named as Lillliye Marshall. According to Hayse, she was transported to Crossroads Hospital, where CPR was administered in the emergency room prior to her being declared deceased. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday. Upon arrival, firefighters reported significant flames emanating from the rear of the residence. The situation was promptly escalated to a box alarm status to summon additional fire departments. UNION COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A Union County Sheriff’s deputy is in stable condition following a crash Tuesday evening, the Sheriff’s Office confirmed to QCN. The crash happened at the intersection of Weddington Road and Wesley Chapel Road, where it turns into Potter Road. This is near Wesley Chapel Elementary School and about 3.5 miles west of the Charlotte-Monroe Executive Airport. The deputy was taken to a local hospital where their injuries are being assessed. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — In anticipation of the cold weather and possible related issues this week — Avery County says it has a plan if the power should go out.  Lows could reach the single digits in the coming days. No details were released, but residents of the High Country community are urged to call the government phone number. Officials recommend having a backup heat source, all required medication and run water in your home to the size of a pencil to avoid freezing pipes. Avery County is one of many areas in western North Carolina still recovering from Helene.
