Chesapeake, VA — An overnight shooting in Chesapeake has resulted in the death of 30-year-old Jeremiah Joseph Casarez. Chesapeake Police Department reported that the incident occurred in the 500 block of Coveside Lane. Upon responding to shots fired, officers discovered Casarez shot multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene. As part of the ongoing investigation, police are seeking 39-year-old Darnell Maceo Barnwell, who is considered a person of interest. Barnwell was last observed leaving the area in a black Hyundai sedan. Investigators urge anyone with information about Barnwell’s whereabouts to come forward to assist in the investigation.
