Nathaniel Young Obituary, Death; – A second person has been arrested in a New Year’s Day shooting that occurred in the early hours of Jan. 1. Birmingham Police say detectives have obtained warrants for 22-year-old Armarious Anderson in connection to the shooting and killing of 23-year-old Nathaniel Young. Police say Anderson also fired shots at a K-9 officer. Authorities say they have obtained warrants for capital murder and three counts of attempted murder for Young. MOORESVILLE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A Mooresville mother has been arrested following a year-long investigation into the tragic death of her child. Riley Tehy Wormington, 23, was taken into custody on February 18, 2025, by the U.S. Marshals Service in Denver, Colorado, after multiple arrest warrants were issued. The investigation began on February 13, 2024, when authorities responded to a medical emergency call along Ridge Avenue in Mooresville. Shawn Kirk Hickey Obituary, Death; – A man who died after being hit by a vehicle while trying to cross a dark stretch of road on the Northeast Side has been identified. The medical examiner has identified the man as 50-year-old Shawn Kirk Hickey. He died from blunt force injuries. The deadly accident happened just before 5 a.m. Monday along Walzem Road and Gibbs Sprawl Road. Police said Shawn was crossing the street when he was hit by a sedan. The driver did stop and call for help. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No charges are being filed…
