Melvin Way Jr., a 25-year-old Athens resident, is the driver of the pickup vehicle that caught fire after it crashed on the east side of town last weekend. Athens-Clarke County Coroner Sonny Wilson stated that Way’s whole corpse was charred, making it impossible for authorities to identify him right away. Fabieus Mark Myers, 55, of Hays, died as a result of his injuries while being transported by EMS to an area hospital, according to N.C. Highway Patrol Master Trooper Christopher Casey in a news release to The Wilkes Record. Mrs. Karen Nelson, one of All Saints’ most cherished former teachers, has passed away. From 1995 to 2012, she was the music instructor at All Saints’, where she inspired and instilled in numerous kids a love of music.
