CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Lawmakers in both Raleigh and Columbia, South Carolina, say they want to eliminate programs that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion. Bills looking to do away with DEI initiatives at state agencies have been filed at legislatures in North and South Carolina. South Carolina Republicans introduced H3927 earlier this month. The bill, authored by State Rep. Doug Gilliam, looks to end any sort of DEI programs at state agencies and universities. Charlotte eateries say they feel the impact of rising egg costs on their businesses
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Local bakeries and eateries have noted that the rising price of eggs is having an impact on business. The U.S. Dept. of Agriculture, in a report released this week, noted rising food prices in nearly every category. The largest percentage increase was in types of eggs: free-range/organic eggs would see a more than 80% spike in prices while other eggs would see a more than 41% increase in 2025.
