CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – Looking to adopt a dog? A Charlotte area animal shelter is waiving adoption fees as it faces a critical space shortage in its dog kennels. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Care & Control has reported an overwhelming influx of dogs, with 33 new arrivals just on Monday, leaving only 13 available kennels at both the main shelter on Byrum Drive and the satellite shelter on Toomey Avenue.
