On Wednesday night, October 2, 2024, near Rhome, a two-vehicle collision claimed the life of a Bridgeport resident. The collision occurred on U.S. 81/287 close to Rhome’s north city boundaries, and 52-year-old Allison Beamon was pronounced deceased at the site. The victim of a shooting in North Austin has been identified by the Austin Police Department. The shooting incident happened at the Research Boulevard 12000 block on October 1. Nathan Ockleberry was located with another individual in a parking lot at roughly 2:40 a.m. with gunshot wounds, according to the APD.
