Makenzie Jackson Obituary, Death; – A student from Lee County has tragically lost her life, and a man has been apprehended following a pursuit by law enforcement on a motorcycle. As reported by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO), shortly after midnight on January 1, a deputy observed a motorcycle speeding in the 1700 block of Philema Road. The deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop after the motorcycle passed at a high speed, but the rider accelerated instead. The motorcycle was recorded traveling at speeds exceeding 90 mph. KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Two men are wanted in connection to a fatal shooting on Monday night, according to the Kannapolis Police Department. Around 6 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 6, officers responded to 105 Pine Hill Lane about a shooting. When they arrived, they found 28-year-old Khari Keem Wilkes suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local medical center where he later died, officials said. Police are reportedly looking for two men in connection to the incident.
