It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear Brother, Johnny Ray Bertram, PM. Brother Bertram was a devoted member of the Masonic Brotherhood and a cornerstone of the fraternity. His journey began on September 23, 1975, when he was initiated as an Entered Apprentice. He was Passed to the degree of Fellowcraft on October 21, 1975, and Raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason on November 18, 1975. Over 2k without power in Mecklenburg County following Friday’s winter weather
CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Over 2,000 Duke Energy customers are without power after Friday’s winter storm brought snow and ice to the area. Most of the outages were caused by extreme weather or fallen trees in or near the area. As of 10 a.m. on Saturday, 2,045 people in Mecklenburg County and 236 in Gaston County were without power. Power is expected to be restored in Mecklenburg County by 6 p.m., while it is expected to be restored in Gaston County at 1:15 p.m. In York County, S.C., almost 400 customers are without power. CHARLOTTE — Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) officials have suspended service for the Blue and Gold Line as crews work to remove ice from the catenary systems. Bus bridges remain in place to supplement streetcar service. Riders can use the buses in the bus bridge to get to and from any destination the rail would typically take them. Information on the bus bridge stop locations can be found on the CATS website.
