Tyrik A Burchette Obituary, Death; – Chesterfield Police have confirmed the identity of a unicyclist who tragically lost his life in an accident on Route 1 last week. On Thursday, January 9, shortly before 5 p.m., law enforcement officers responded to a collision in the 5700 block of Route 1 involving an electric unicycle and a truck. Upon their arrival, officers discovered the victim, identified as 26-year-old Tyrik A. Burchette, lying in the roadway after being ejected from his electric unicycle, according to Chesterfield Police. CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A huge project could finally get the green light from Charlotte City Council. It’s a bridge that will take people over Interstate 277 from South End to Uptown. Construction on the I-277 rail trail pedestrian bridge was supposed to start construction in 2023 and be completed in 2025, but city officials didn’t even send out a request for bids until 2024. The price tag for the rail trail bridge is about $16.3 million. The 280-foot-long pedestrian bridge will go from the CATS Brooklyn Village station to Uptown. It will include a 16-foot-wide lane for cycling…

MOORESVILLE, N.C. — Interstate 77 is closed due to a crash and a tractor-trailer catching fire during Monday morning rush hour, according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation. NCDOT says the incident happened just before 7 a.m. on I-77 between Brawley School Road and Williamson Road. This is just outside of Mooresville town limits. A tractor-trailer encountering equipment failure crashed into a Chevrolet Camaro, according to State Highway Patrol.
