Amani Miles, the Bowie State Bulldogs’ chief football equipment manager, unfortunately died on January 21, 2025, at the age of 23. She participated actively in a number of student organizations at the university, including the Bowie State Cab Street Team and the Bowie State Circle K International. In a tragic and shocking incident on the near west side of Indianapolis, Rodney Nixon Jr., a 37-year-old local man, was found shot and killed early Monday morning in an apartment hallway. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) responded to a call reporting a shooting at approximately 3:30 a.m. on January 20, 2025, in the 200 block of North Warman Avenue, near West Washington Street.
