On Tuesday night the City Council approved on a split vote to continue its deer culling operation, seeking to kill 80 more from the local population. In the first round that began last fall, city leaders reported that 80 have been killed, and another 200 sterilized. CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — One person is dead from a shooting off West Boulevard Tuesday night, local authorities say. According to Medic, the incident occurred around 10:15 p.m. on a frigid, snowy night, in the 5700 block of Leake Street, home to the Little Rock Apartments. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police is investigating the shooting as a homicide. There is no information on a suspect or the victim at this time.
