Ashley M. Kuregian Obituary – Authorities have confirmed that a man who reported his girlfriend missing in Hawaii was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Police conducted a search at a residence in Kea’au, Hawaii on May 23 in connection with the disappearance of Ashley M. Kuregian, 38. Upon entering the home, officers heard a gunshot and discovered the body of Kuregian’s boyfriend, Matthew A. Poole, who had died from a gunshot wound.
A firearm was recovered at the scene. An autopsy later revealed that Poole had taken his own life. Kuregian had been reported missing by Poole on May 21 after she had not been seen for about a week. Subsequently, authorities found Kuregian’s remains in the Orchidland Estates Subdivision. The medical examiner determined that Kuregian had died from a gunshot wound to the head and classified her death as a homicide. The case is now being investigated as a murder-suicide. A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to support Kuregian’s family, raising over $10,000 for funeral costs and her daughter’s college fund.
