Arturo Cantu Obituary – Law enforcement officials reported that a 39-year-old man from Bridgeview was fatally shot as he was entering his vehicle early on Wednesday morning. The victim had remotely started his car and was on his way to it when he was accosted near the vehicle at around 5 a.m. in the vicinity of South Oketo Avenue and 79th Street, according to the Bridgeview police department.
The man sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was discovered on the easement in the vicinity. Authorities stated that the victim resided in an apartment complex located at 7359 W. 79th St. The victim was identified as Arturo Cantu by the police, who have not yet named a suspect in the case.
Following an investigation by law enforcement, Oketo Avenue was temporarily closed on Wednesday morning but has since been reopened.
