Authorities are investigating a tragic murder-suicide involving a father and son that unfolded earlier this week across Forsyth and DeKalb counties.
The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies responded to a home on Jefferson Place on January 22 after receiving a call about a deceased individual.
Inside the home, deputies discovered 46-year-old Anthony Gennaro Persichetti dead. His ex-wife, who had stopped by after he failed to show up for work, expressed concerns that her 24-year-old son, Anthony David Persichetti, who lived with his father, may have been involved in the incident.
While searching for Anthony David, deputies were informed by the DeKalb Medical Examiner’s Office that his body had been found in a wooded area along North Druid Hills Road. He had died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Investigators believe the altercation occurred between 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on January 21. During the dispute, the son allegedly shot his father multiple times before leaving the home and taking his own life in DeKalb County.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not released additional details at this time.
Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office at 770-781-2222.
