Anthony Caton Obituary, – A fatal accident occurred on Interstate 93 in New Hampshire over the weekend, resulting in the death of a motorcyclist and injuries to two others. The New Hampshire State Police received a report of the crash on I-93 south in Campton at 4:41 p.m. on Saturday. Upon arrival, troopers discovered a group of three motorcyclists, all injured, with their motorcycles resting on their sides.
Based on witness accounts and evidence collected at the scene, the state police determined that a strong gust of wind caused one of the motorcyclists to veer off the paved section of the highway and onto the gravel shoulder. The motorcyclist then returned to the road but lost control, resulting in a crash where the motorcycle tipped onto its side. In order to avoid a collision, the other two motorcyclists laid down their bikes.
The motorcyclist who initially went off the road was transported to Concord Hospital with severe injuries, while the second motorcyclist was taken to Speare Memorial Hospital in Plymouth for minor injuries. The third motorcyclist, identified as 41-year-old Anthony Caton from Round Lake, New York, was also taken to Speare Memorial Hospital. However, due to the severity of his injuries, he was later airlifted to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, where he was sadly pronounced dead. To facilitate the clearing of the scene, one lane of the highway remained closed for approximately three hours.
