Ann Cotter Obituary – Ann (Urtz) Cotter Passed away on March 28, 2024 in Little Falls, New York. She was born on January 28, 1948. Anne (Urtz) Cotter, age 76, originally of Ilion, New York, and currently residing in Little Falls, New York, passed away without any discomfort on Thursday morning, March 28, 2024. Ilion was the location where Ann Urtz was born on January 28, 1948. Her parents, Richard and Peggy (Dwyer) Urtz, have since passed away.
Ann received her high school diploma from Ilion in the year 1966. Additionally, she received an associate’s degree in accounting from Herkimer County Community College, where she studied for four years. Ann was married to the man who would become the love of her life, James “Jimmy” Cotter, on December 15, 1983, in the Annunciation Church located in Ilion. Jimmy Cotter passed away in 2002.
During the many years that Ann and Jimmy spent at their camp at Half Moon Beach in Piseco, they formed a number of connections and memories that will accompany them throughout their lives. Ann worked in the business office of Remington Arms for a considerable amount of time throughout her employment there. Utica Mutual Insurance was another company that she worked for at one point in her career.
In addition to being a member of the Rosary Society at Holy Family Parish in Little Falls, Ann was also a communicant at the church. Additionally, she volunteered her time with the Piseco Lake Fire Department Auxiliary and the American Red Cross. Ann attended a significant number of Syracuse Orange home games as a devoted supporter. Her cherished family members, who include her brother Steven Urtz and his wife Celenna, who reside in Fort Mohave,
Arizona, as well as her three sisters-in-law and their spouses, Noreen and Stan Zysk, Liz and Rod Pritchard, and Cathy and Dave Carpineti, all of Little Falls, are among those who are left behind after Ann’s passing. Additionally, she leaves behind her cherished nieces and nephews, including Jeff Urtz, Chris and Shannon Urtz, Lisa Urtz, Albert Scott and Katrina Kile, Andy and Sharon Zysk, Walt and Alicia Zysk, Shauna Cone, Laura and Manny Cruz, Ellen Cone, Bill Carpineti, Kait and Sean Regan, and Nora Sullivan.
Additionally, there are a number of great nieces and nephews, relatives, and close acquaintances who are among the survivors. The following people have passed away before Ann: her husband Jimmy, her parents Richard and Peggy Urtz, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Helen Cotter, her brothers Tom and Robert Urtz, her sister-in-law Cecelia Urtz, her brother-in-law Eddie Cotter, and her nephews Jimmy Zysk and Jason Sullivan.
Calling hours for the general public will not be held, as Ann had requested. On Friday, April 5, 2024, at eleven o’clock in the morning, the Reverend Brian Slezak, who serves as the pastor, will offer a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Family Parish, which is located at the intersection of East Main Street and John Street in Little Falls. There is a respectful invitation extended to family members and friends to attend.

St. Mary’s Cemetery in the Town of Herkimer will be the location of the committal event that will take place later in the spring.
