ENFIELD, Connecticut – Amanda Santiago, 27, of Springfield, Massachusetts, died in a horrific motorcycle accident on Somers Road on Friday afternoon, according to Enfield police.
When Santiago was riding along on a motorcycle, there was a collision with another car at around 1:20 p.m. Santiago was sent to St. Francis Hospital in Hartford and eventually declared dead in spite of medical interventions.
The motorcycle’s driver, Jose Del Rosario Collazo Jr., a 31-year-old Massachusetts resident, was taken to the hospital for medical attention after suffering significant injuries. His present state of health is unknown.
The other car involved in the collision has not been identified by the authorities, and the accident’s cause is still being looked into. Anyone with information on the accident is requested to call 860-763-8985 to speak with Officer Nisyrios, according to the police.
