Amanda Elderkin,Jason Elderkin Obituary, Death; – The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the identities of the three individuals who succumbed to carbon monoxide poisoning at Saguaro Lake in Mesa over the weekend.
The deceased have been identified as 35-year-old Amanda Elderkin, 41-year-old Jason Elderkin, and 57-year-old Julieanne Afman. Sgt. Calbert Gillett reported that Julieanne is Amanda’s mother, and Amanda is married to Jason.
At approximately 3 p.m. on Saturday, deputies were dispatched to the marina following reports of three deceased individuals found within a houseboat. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a generator operating inside the vessel.
Carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless, and tasteless gas that can emanate from appliances such as stoves, furnaces, and generators, which are frequently utilized for heating during the winter season. Authorities do not suspect foul play in this incident; however, an investigation is ongoing.
