Alyson Rae Scott Death, Graduate Of Webb City High School Has Passed Away: Alyson Rae Scott, 33, of Webb City, Missouri, passed away on the morning of May 29, 2024, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, after a prolonged illness. Born in Joplin, Missouri, Alyson’s compassionate and warm-hearted nature touched everyone who knew her. Alyson grew up in Webb City and graduated from Webb City High School, class of 2009. She furthered her education at the University of Arkansas and Missouri Southern State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus on Accounting in 2013.
Alyson’s life was a testament to love and kindness. She married Kelly Scott on April 30, 2016, and their son, Cyrus, born in 2018, became the center of her world. Alyson cherished every moment spent with her family. She is survived by her loving family: her husband Kelly; son Cyrus; parents Alan and Paula Stanley of Joplin; brother Preston Stanley and his wife Sarah of Joplin; and her grandmother Carolyn Stanley, also of Joplin. Alyson’s memory will be cherished by her in-laws, cousins, nephews, and many friends who became like family. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Don and Anne Witherspoon, and her paternal grandfather, Jimmie Stanley.
Alyson was a dedicated member of Christ’s Church of Oronogo, actively participating in youth programs throughout her school years. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, inspiring her to love unconditionally and live with purpose. Alyson’s joyful spirit was evident in her many passions. She loved traveling and exploring new places, and was an enthusiastic Kansas City Chiefs fan, enjoying Sunday games with her family. As we bid farewell to Alyson, we celebrate a life filled with love. Her spirit will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. Alyson’s earthly journey has concluded, but her legacy lives on in the hearts of those she loved and inspired.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 3, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at Christ’s Church of Oronogo, officiated by Pastor Mark Christian. Friends and family are invited to gather and remember Alyson until 8:00 p.m. following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ’s Church of Oronogo Student Ministries, in care of the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home in Webb City, Missouri. In her memory, let us continue to live with the same love and kindness that Alyson shared with the world.
