Algene Krause Obituary, Death – Skokie, Illinois, where Algene A. Krause had been resided for the past few years, was the location where he died away on Tuesday morning, March 26, 2024. He was 91 years old. On March 17, 1933, he was born in Wonewoc, Wisconsin, to August Krause, who had passed away, and Alice (Sommerfield) Krause. At Peace Lutheran Church in Janesville, on July 6, 1968, Algene tied the knot with the woman who had previously been known as Joanne L. Morris. Her passing occurred on April 22, 2018, which was before his.
He enlisted in the United States Army in June 1953 and was released with honor in May 1955. Algene served his country during his time in the military. For twenty years, Gene and his wife worked as campsite hosts at a number of Wisconsin state parks, but the most of their time was spent at their favorite state park, Mirror Lake State Park. Gene was an avid camper.
He enjoyed spending time in his workshop, where he would create a variety of wood works and figure out how to fix whatever was “wrong” in the house, with the automobile, or with the camper. When he was not hanging out at the parks, he enjoyed spending time there. In his latter years, he attended classes at the Janesville senior center, where he learned how to play the dulcimer that he had constructed, and he also began to learn how to carve wood.
Carla Krause, Cathy Krause, Michael Krause (and his wife Linda), and Wayne Krause (and his wife Jane) are the children that Algene leaves behind. He also leaves behind two grandchildren, Lindsey Krause and Jaley Grant (and her husband Dylan), as well as two great-grandchildren, Eliana and Noah Grant. His wife Joanne, his parents, and his siblings Gordon Krause (Margie), Robert Krause (Loretta), and Harlan Krause (Judy) all passed away before him.
At the APFEL WOLFE FUNERAL HOME in Janesville, there will be a visitation for Algene on Saturday, April 6, 2024, from ten to eleven in the morning, and the ceremony will begin at eleven in the morning. Oak Hill Cemetery in Janesville will be the location of the interment.
