Alfred Mottola 2nd, Obituary, Death; – An individual from Atlantic County tragically lost his life last week when his motorcycle veered across the center line and collided with an oncoming vehicle in Egg Harbor Township, according to a police statement.
The motorcyclist, identified as Alfred Mottola 2nd, aged 66, from Somers Point, was declared deceased at the scene of the accident, which occurred shortly after 8 p.m. on Thursday along Longport Boulevard, near the Somers Point border, as reported by law enforcement officials.
Mottola was traveling westbound on Longport Boulevard when his motorcycle crossed into the opposing lane, resulting in a collision with a vehicle driven eastward by a 17-year-old resident of Glassboro. The young driver sustained minor injuries but declined medical assistance, police noted.
Additionally, a third vehicle traveling west on Longport Boulevard was also involved in the incident. The two occupants of this vehicle, a 63-year-old man and a 60-year-old woman from Marmora, were reported to be unharmed.
The investigation into the crash and subsequent cleanup efforts necessitated the closure of Longport Boulevard, which serves as a connection between Somers Point and Longport, for a duration of five hours.
