Albert Tabaha, 77, and his son, Calbert Tabaha, in his 40s, lost their lives Friday evening after being struck by a Tesla on Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway near Elliot Road in Phoenix, Arizona.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZDPS), the crash occurred around 6:35 p.m. as the father and son were refueling their Chevrolet pickup truck on the side of the freeway. Emergency responders pronounced both men dead at the scene.
The driver of the Tesla, identified only as a woman, remained at the scene and was found to be neither impaired nor injured.
The tragic loss of Albert and Calbert Tabaha has left their family grieving, with further details about the crash still under investigation.
