Ahmad Abed Obituary, – The Cook County Jail’s residential treatment unit witnessed a tragic incident on Friday afternoon, as a 32-year-old man, identified as Ahmad Abed of Bridgeview, suffered a medical emergency and subsequently passed away. Chicago Fire Department paramedics rushed him to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:25 p.m. The exact cause and circumstances surrounding his death will be established after an autopsy conducted by the Cook County medical examiner’s office. In accordance with standard procedure, the sheriff’s office has called for an independent investigation by the Illinois State Police Public Integrity Task Force.
