Adrian James Gonzales Arrested; – An individual from El Paso entered a guilty plea on Wednesday for the murder of two individuals and received a sentence of 45 years in state prison. The El Paso District Attorney’s Office reported that Adrian James Gonzales, aged 28, accepted a plea deal on February 3.
This sentencing occurred nearly one year following Gonzales’s arrest and subsequent charges related to the fatalities of Enrike Havier Navarro, aged 34, and Noemi Crispin, aged 40, in February 2024.
As detailed in the complaint affidavit, a witness contacted deputies from the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office after observing a man, later identified as Mr. Navarro, lying unresponsive on the ground in the 4600 block of Turf Road.
Deputies also discovered the body of Ms. Crispin a short distance from the initial scene. The witness informed investigators that she had seen a man fleeing the area in a vehicle, as noted in the affidavit. Investigators traced the trail of vehicle debris and fluid to a residence on the 4700 block of Turf Road, where both Gonzales and a damaged SUV were located.
Surveillance footage provided by nearby residents captured Gonzales driving erratically on Turf Road around the time of the incident, according to the document. Although no specific motive was disclosed, family and friends of Gonzales indicated to investigators that he was known to frequently use methamphetamine, as reported by the District Attorney’s office.
“While we may never fully understand the reasons behind the Defendant’s actions towards Mr. Navarro and Ms. Crispin, the cooperation of witnesses and the diligent efforts of the Sheriff’s Office deputies and investigators enabled our Office to ensure he was held accountable for his brutal and reprehensible conduct,” remarked District Attorney James Montoya.
